Getting Kris on board for a trip to Tucson was pretty easy once he knew we were going to get to babysit Avery for a day!
We drove over on a Saturday afternoon, arriving in time to enjoy some pizza and visiting before everyone headed to bed.
Sunday Kris attended Sacrament meeting with us, and then we took a nice drive to see the 2 locations where Ayrel will be working as an audiologist.
The main location for the audiology group Ayrel has joined
We were able to get a mini-tour of the hospital where Ben is working (boo on me for not taking any pictures) before we headed to their friends' home for dinner.
Gifford and Avery were so happy to see each other!
Michael and Kathy cooked us up some delicious Kenyan food - yum!
1st day on the job for Dr. Gonzalez
Monday morning Kris was happy to sleep in while Avery and I took a bike ride, but he was even happier to join us for a shopping trip to Trader Joe's. He picked out a pumpkin cheesecake for dessert since we planned to celebrate Ayrel's birthday a little early while in town.
We spent the afternoon playing with Avery and the dogs, reading books, and taking pictures.
Kris is really good at making Avery laugh!
We waited a little too long to get a good picture of him holding her ~
But she was happy to let him help her put her shoes on.
We ended up meeting Ayrel & Ben at the Guadalajara restaurant as they came home from work - surprisingly good Mexican food this far away from El Paso!
And then we were on the road, leaving the pumpkin cheesecake untouched.
I guess that means we have to find one of our own when we get back home :)
Bonus Shot
Guess who gussied up to attend the Priesthood session of conference with his brother, nicking himself when shaving because he was so excited to go??!
It's just a guess, but he may have been enticed by a trip to Coldstone after the meeting
Awesome. I love everything about this blog post...
